September Recognition and Appreciation
This month the borough council came together to recognize and honor the valuable contributions of three spectacular individuals. The following honors were given in the month of September:
Resolution 2018-17
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF GREENVILLE, MERCER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, IN RECOGNITION AND APPRECIATION OF
HOLLY PATTERSON
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Mayor and Council to acknowledge and recognize the many contributions citizens make to the well-being of the Borough and its residents; and
WHEREAS Holly Patterson has contributed to the welfare of this community in countless ways; and
WHEREAS she has served faithfully at the Record-Argus; and
WHEREAS, she has been especially recognized for her work supporting first responders and keeping the community informed of breaking news on Facebook live; and
WHEREAS, her service to the Borough stands as a continued example of outstanding citizenship;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Borough of Greenville of Mercer County, Pennsylvania, as follows:
1. The Mayor and Council hereby extend their sincere appreciation and goodwill to Holly Patterson;
2. Holly Patterson is hereby declared Citizen of the Month for the month of September in the Borough of Greenville; &
3. Copies of this Resolution shall be delivered to Holly Patterson, provided to local media, and spread on the minutes of this body.

Here is what the nominator had to say: I am nominating Holly Patterson, Community Editor of The Record-Argus for going above and beyond in keeping the residents of Greenville and surrounding areas informed of breaking news. Holly's use of Facebook Live has been a tremendous tool in helping to inform residents of important detours/street closures due to emergency events, accidents, water main breaks, as well as events. Holly never misses an opportunity to build other people up!
Resolution 2018-18
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF GREENVILLE, MERCER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, IN RECOGNITION OF THE YARD OF THE MONTH:
CANDY HANEK
WHEREAS community well-being and neighborhood property values are affected by the outward appearance of property and its improvements; and
WHEREAS some residents go above and beyond to maintain their property, bringing pride to the community in which they live; and
WHEREAS, Candy Hanek has painstakingly manicured her residence in such a manner so as to be an example to others;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Borough of Greenville of Mercer County, Pennsylvania, as follows:
1. The Mayor and Council hereby extend their sincere gratitude and goodwill to Candy Hanekr;
2. Candy Hanek’s property, located on Lebanon Avenue, is hereby declared Yard of the Month for the month of September in the Borough of Greenville;
3. The “Borough Yard of the Month” sign shall be placed at said property until the following month, &
3. Copies of this Resolution shall be delivered to Candy Hanek, provided to local media, and spread on the minutes of this body.
