August Recognition and Appreciation
This month the borough council came together to recognize and honor the valuable contributions of three spectacular individuals. The following honors were given in the month of August:
Resolution 2018-14
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF GREENVILLE, MERCER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, IN RECOGNITION AND APPRECIATION OF:
Jean Carr
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Mayor and Council to acknowledge and recognize the many contributions citizens make to the well-being of the Borough and its residents; and
WHEREAS Jean Carr has contributed to the welfare of this community in countless ways; and
WHEREAS she has served faithfully through the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Eagles Auxiliary; and
WHEREAS, she has been especially recognized for her work orchestrating Heritage Days and donating goods and services to local organizations; and
WHEREAS, her service to the Borough stands as a continued example of outstanding citizenship;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Borough of Greenville of Mercer County, Pennsylvania, as follows:
1. The Mayor and Council hereby extend their sincere appreciation and goodwill to Jean Carr;
2. Jean Carr is hereby declared Citizen of the Month for the month of August in the Borough of Greenville; &
3. Copies of this Resolution shall be delivered to Jean Carr, provided to local media, and spread on the minutes of this body.

A little more about Jean Carr...
Jean Carr has dedicated herself in countless ways to helping the Greenville Community. Her role and leadership as President of the Heritage Days committee, her dedication, and sacrificial contributions culminate in a weekend of celebration. Heritage Days continues to thrive with hundreds of visitors see the best of Greenville on display. Jean's hard work in making this event success has not gone unnoticed. Jean is the FM Manager of ComDoc DocuCenter. ComDoc is supportive of Jean's active role in the community and on the Heritage Days committee. Jean is also a board member of the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Resolution 2018-15
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF GREENVILLE, MERCER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, IN RECOGNITION OF THE YARD OF THE MONTH:
Jamie Groover
WHEREAS community well-being and neighborhood property values are affected by the outward appearance of property and its improvements; and
WHEREAS some residents go above and beyond to maintain their property, bringing pride to the community in which they live; and
WHEREAS, Jamie Groover has painstakingly manicured her residence in such a manner so as to be an example to others;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Borough of Greenville of Mercer County, Pennsylvania, as follows:
1. The Mayor and Council hereby extend their sincere gratitude and goodwill to Jamie Groover;
2. Jaime Groover’s property, located on Leet Avenue, is hereby declared Yard of the Month for the month of August in the Borough of Greenville;
3. The “Borough Yard of the Month” sign shall be placed at said property until the following month, &
3. Copies of this Resolution shall be delivered to Jamie Groover, provided to local media, and spread on the minutes of this body.

A Certificate of Appreciation was also given to Zach McDowell at the August council meeting in recognition and appreciation for his outstanding contributions to the community. Zach built much needed bridge-ways for Riverside Park (pictured below).
