Vacancy on Council
LEGAL NOTICE
The Borough of Greenville Council is accepting letters of interest to fill a vacant seat on Borough Council with a term expiring December 31, 2027. The vacancy was created by Jean Carr-Fisher's election to the Mayor/Council President seat and a Borough Council seat in the November 4, 2025, election. She has decided to accept the Mayor/Council President seat for which she was elected and to vacate the Borough Council seat that she was also elected to. Interested candidates need to submit their letter of interest to the Borough Manager in order to participate in public interviews, which will be conducted by Borough Council on January 5, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. Per “Greenville Home Rule Charter” 3.2(a), “Only qualified voters of the Borough shall be eligible to hold the office of Councilmember. A councilmember shall have been a citizen of the United States and a resident of the Borough for a continuous period of one year immediately prior to the date of filing for election and shall remain a resident of the borough during the entire term”. An Affidavit of Residency must also be completed (which can be found under Forms on our website: www.greenvillborough.com). All interested candidates are asked to submit a letter of interest and affidavit of residency to Open Council Seat, Borough of Greenville, 125 Main Street, Greenville, PA 16125, or email to info@greenvilleborough.com, no later than December 19, 2025, at 4:00 pm.
