Junior Councilor Program

Greenville Borough Council has two (2) vacant seats in the Junior Council Program.  Interested 9th - 12th grade students residing within the Greenville Area School District are encouraged to fill out the online application below by for the 2023-2024 school year. The Junior Council Program term runs from September through May and requires attending two (2) meetings per month.  The meetings are held on the 2nd Monday and the Wednesday prior at 6:30pm in the Council Chambers.

  • Open to all residents in 9th – 12th grade within the Greenville Area School District. Open to all public, private, denominational, and home school students within the district. Council appoints interested candidate(s).

  • The successful candidate(s) must take an “oath of office” and serve one term which coincides with the school year. Junior Councilors must observe the meeting rules of all council and committee meetings they attend.

  • Junior Councilors are encouraged to attend two (2) monthly council meetings. Junior Councilors may be seated around the table with Council and participate in council discussions. Junior Councilors may also attend open meetings of other committees, accompanied by a Council representative.

  • Junior Councilors may not vote or attend executive sessions. There are two (2) seats open. Interested students should submit the online application below.
